Shodan Grading Success for Dojo’s favourite “Old Timer” – Saturday 26th November 2016

It was a special day indeed for the Dojo’s favourite “Old Timer” Neil Barkess….

Affectionately known as “Senpai Grumpy”…

Senpai Neil demonstrated his true grit and determination throughout a most challenging shodan grading taken by Kyoshi Avis Macadam at Wellington’s Brooklyn Dojo on Saturday 26th November…

Well supported by family, friends and fellow students the grading day ended with Neil gaining his shodan…and even managing to show all his rarely seen Neil Barkess “wry smile”….

Well done Senpai Neil and thank you to your family, friends and all our wonderful Lower Hutt students for supporting you throughout….

Sydney what a wonderful place to have a tournament – Seido Karate Australia – Sydney 2016

Once again, what a wonderful place to have a tournament…this year’s Junior Academy Group enjoying the privileges of their hard work and getting to enjoy the sights and activities of Sydney with parents and fellow students…

It was a perfect trip in all respects, great company, great weather, great shopping and a wonderful day of hard fought competition on tournament day…

Well done to all students who competed with tremendous dojo pride and thank you to all parents who shared in the fun activities and the successes of all on tournament day….I guess the smiles say it all…

Thank you also to Sei Shihan Ino and Kyoshi Leigh and all Seido students throughout Australia for welcoming us so warmly and providing such great competition on tournament day…

Best wishes for Xmas and we will see you all again next year…

Junior Academy Group ready to enjoy the wonders and sights of Sydney – Wednesday 9th November 2016

It was all smiles and happiness as the Dojo’s Junior Academy Group students received their wonderful sponsored Back Packs, Hoodies and CamelBak drink bottles at the Dojo yesterday afternoon…

Students fortunate to be selected for the Junior Academy Group making the annual trip to compete at the SEIDO Australian National Tournament held in Sydney each year…

A special mention must go to all the amazing parents who tirelessly encourage their children to do their very best…and to work hard in achieving their goals…

Your energy, dedication and support with fundraising and sponsorships is truly appreciated by us all…

Seido Karate Palmerston North Dojo marks special occasion with Junior Shodan Grading – Saturday 5th November 2016

It was indeed a special day for Seido Karate’s Palmerston North Dojo…..

The Dojo’s first ever Junior Black Belt grading warmly supported with the attendances of the large gathering of Seido seniors, kyu grades, friends and families….and made even more special with the grading being taken by Hanshi Andy Barber….

The 4 talented Juniors Ayana and JP (sister and brother), Christina and William (also sister and brother) all demonstrating wonderful technique and spirit throughout the challenging grading test….

Koyshi John Rounce, playing a huge role in all their karate journey’s not only being proud dad to Ayana and JP but also being guiding instructor and mentor to all 4……

A wonderful day of celebration indeed for everyone….and Congratulations to the new Senpai’s Ayana, JP, Christina and William….

Wonderful demonstration of Confidence and Patience from committed Juniors throughout grading – Thursday 26th October 2016

It was a wonderful demonstration of the lessons learnt from their training as a great bunch of Juniors worked their way through the challenges of their first grading….

Each student in their own unique ways overcoming the many challenges placed in front of them on grading night…..proudly supported by families, friends and fellow students, all emerged with smiles of personal achievement as they gained grading success…

Amazing adults demonstrate true SEIDO sincerity and honesty throughout grading – Thursday 22nd September 2016

It was an evening of true SEIDO sincerity and honesty as 5 of the Dojo’s adult students worked their way through a challenging grading last night….
I am sure that everyone in attendance learnt a lot about each of those grading and I am sure also that everyone learnt much about the amazing strength of purpose that individuals muster within themselves when faced with the challenges of overcoming their doubts and fears to achieve their personal goals and grading success….
As always all were well supported by their families, friends and fellow students…..
Well done to you all on an amazing demonstration of true human sincerity and honesty…..and thank you to everyone for your wonderful support of all who graded and our wonderful little dojo…
