It was an emotional night for everyone as Dojo black belts, adult and fellow collegiate students and friends wished Luke the very best for his next life chapter with a move to Christchurch to begin your tertiary studies at Canterbury University….
 
Thank you for the wonderful privilege of having you and all your amazing family involved with our little Dojo since you were 7 years old… we are all so very proud of the wonderful young man that you have become…
 
I am absolutely positive that your SEIDO journey with Christchurch Shibu will be a special one under the nurturing and encouraging guidance and care of Hanshi Renzie, all Shibu Seniors and class instructors….

Dear Students, Parents and Families
 
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THE HAPPIEST OF NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS WITH FAMILIES AND FRIENDS
 
Thank you everyone for another Wonderful Year at the Dojo…..
 
Despite all the challenges faced with COVID we have managed to overcome them and emerge with a huge sense of positive anticipation for the many new opportunities that will arise in the exciting new year ahead….
 
2022 is already looking FUN, ACTIVITY FILLED and ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, POSITIVE for everyone……..
 
Dojo last day of classes is Thursday 16th December and re-opens Monday 17th January 2022
 
So, please make the effort to take and make time over the coming weeks and months to rest up, relax and enjoy time, love and laughter with families and friends over the Christmas, New Year and School Holiday period…

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart” for making the day with Hanshi Renzie and Catherine so very special for me, our Dojo’s and the SZETO family…
 
The day couldn’t have turned out any better….it was a dream come true….
 
The fantastic kata demonstrations, the great questions from the kids, the warmth from everyone towards each other and the always generous gifts of homemade food which have become a trademark of our wonderful Dojo culture and a testament to the giving attitudes of everyone involved with it…

Talented Sisters Rise through Challenges of Tough Grading – Thursday 29th April 2021

It was a difficult start to the occasion with nerves and uncertainty preoccupying the minds of the talented sisters…
 
But after being pushed with physical challenge after challenge,  they each drew upon their own inner strengths of heart and courage to rise above the presence of any personal thoughts of self doubt…
 
Well supported by mum, dad and fellow karate-ka young and older, their levels of self confidence shining through for all to see at the end of the grading…
 
Talented indeed you are Naomi and Hikari……

“FANTASTIC 4” DEMONSTRATE AMAZING SELF-BELIEF TO GAIN GRADING SUCCESS – Tuesday 30th March 2021

Early grading nerves soon disappeared as this fantastic group of 4 got stuck into their grading challenges….
 
Their levels of self-belief rising as they overcame challenge after challenge with building confidence and SEIDO spirit…
 
Well supported by families, friends and fellow karate-ka all 4 full of smiles and feelings of self achievement as they joined their new belt class group  and thanked their former class group for their friendship and support throughout…
 
Well done Angus, Leo, Oliver and Sam….you guys are simply “Awesome”…Onwards and Upwards….

TRIO DEMONSTRATE TRUE TENETS OF SEIDO KARATE IN GRADING – LOVE, RESPECT and OBEDIENCE – THURSDAY 25th MARCH 2021

It was 200% effort from all 3 students from the word “GO”…..the grading evening full of physical challenges and needing significant mental perseverance…
 
Despite the very different journeys for each, all demonstrated their highest standards of physical technique and their never quit spirits having been developed through their absolute dedication to their training and the tenets of SEIDO Karate Love, Respect and Obedience as unique and amazing individuals…..
 
Well supported by families, friends and fellow karate-ka the evening was an inspiration for all in attendance….
 
You guys were ALL simply Amazing and Awe Inspiring with your honesty, grit and super human determination throughout….
 
Keep up the hard work and dedication to the art that is SEIDO Karate….(Sincere Way)
