“A Great Day Out” for Lower Hutt Dojo Students, Competitors, Families and Friends…..
It was a “Great Day Out” for everyone at the Seido Karate North Island Tournament held this Saturday 24th October at the Wellington Tennis Centre…..
Blessed with great weather and spirited competition, the event was well attended with Seido students coming from all over the North and South Islands and even students attending with Sei Shihan Ino and Kyoshi Leigh Macquirang from Sydney’s Broadway Dojo….
Our kids and adults competed hard all day and I am pleased to report that many emerged with podium placing success across the day’s events…
Even our newbie team of Mat Marshalls did themselves proud keeping their designated Mat activities ticking along all day….
Well done everyone and thank you for representing our wonderful Dojo with such pride and spirit….

Visiting Seido Brisbane student Alex Fox just like one of the Dojo family – Wednesday 7th October 2015

It was rather sad to farewell Alex last night as she returns to Brisbane, Australia….

A student of Seido’s Brisbane Dojo headed by Kyoshi’s Glynn and Cath, Alex packed in a lot while visiting her Lowry Bay resident parents..

She spent time with us and Brooklyn Dojo and even managed to meet and greet with Kaicho, Nidaime and many of Seido’s senior notables at the Christchurch Shibu 50th Anniversary celebrations….

We will all look forward to seeing you when you visit again soon Alex….

Physicality, Honesty and Humility demonstrated at Brown Belt Grading – Tuesday 6th October 2015

It was another packed Dojo as the Dojo’s first double set of “Father and Son” students attempted their brown belt grading…

After being pushed to their physical limits, all 4 were then challenged with the “self discovery” exercise of peeling away the outer layers of “human ego and prejudice” through the very intense and demanding kata Sanchin….

It was a wonderful demonstration of martial “Honesty and Humility”….

Well done to you all…and a big “thank you” to all the families and students who attended to support them
