A Fantastic Way to Spend a Morning – Kapiti Dojo Beach Training at Raumati South Beach Saturday 4th March 2017

It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning….karate training at the beach…

Hosted by Senpai Karen Milane and her team of students from Seido Karate Kapiti Dojo, the morning on the beach was just fantastic..

A great turnout indeed with well over 50 karate-ka all enjoying the sun, the surf and each others company doing karate…

And to round it all off, a yummy BBQ sausage sizzle at Senpai Kern and partner Jeff’s beach bach just over the sand dunes of the beach…

Thank you Senpai Karen, Jeff and Dojo team for hosting such a wonderful morning..

Karate Superstar Wayne Otto drops in to visit family friends at SEIDO Karate Lower Hutt Dojo – Tuesday 28th February 2017

It’s not everyday that a karate superstar drops into your Dojo… That’s exactly what happened when Karate Superstar and former 9 times World and European Karate Champion Wayne Otto dropped in to see family friends and Lower Hutt Dojo junior students Max and Thomas Rankin…. It was straight onto the dojo floor for Sensei Wayne where he was chief judge of the junior kids class speed punching contest…. It was a demonstration of how unifying karate can be…..after all the underlying tenets of karate being family, friendship and love… Thank you Christy-Anne (mum of Max and Thomas) for arranging for Sensei Wayne and family to visit our little Dojo and thank you to Sensei Wayne for joining in the fun with all our wonderful kids… Safe travels as you and family holiday in New Zealand… OSU Ken Szeto

A Great Day out at SEIDO Wellington Region Camp at Otaki Forks – Saturday 18th February 2017

Despite the early morning start for the Lower Hutt Dojo students..we all made it in time to reach Otaki Forks for the 6am run, walk or jog to start the days activities, it was a great day out right from the get go…

The early morning walk was followed by the customary 1,000 punches and kia’s to start the day…dan grade specific classes in the training hall and kyu grade classes in the fields taking us to breakfast and then lunch…

The afternoon sessions outside testing everyone with sun, humidity and heavy rain showers…what more could you ask for while enjoying learning about karate…

The day’s training finishing with the other customary activity, 1,000 kicks and kiai’s before social time by the pool and in the courtyard…and to top it all off, a scrumptious BBQ dinner cooked by the brown belts…

Thank you to the Wellington Dojo organising committee for a great day out, well run and student friendly…

Thank you to the Sei Shihan Ben and Michael, Jun Shihan’s, Kyoshi’s and Sensei’s for all your wonderful teaching…

And a “BIG HIGH FIVE” to my wonderful kyu grade morning group for your fun attitudes towards learning karate…
You all know who you are number 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and 11…well done and see you all next year

Many lessons to be learnt for Junior students before, during and after a grading – Wednesday 14th December 2016

It was a busy grading night last night for the last Junior grading of the year…

The mix of young personalities making the evening an interesting one for all who came to support and encourage…

The many lessons to be learnt for these talented Juniors becoming evident as they each overcame the challenges placed in front of them…

Well done to a great bunch of young people, their families and friends…

A nice way to end your karate year…full of new goals and new aspirations for the future….
