It was the 70th Birthday of our Dojo’s very own Dojo Nana……..Maureen Mackie
 
Always warm, loving and supportive to all, Maureen has come to represent what Seido is all about at Lower Hutt Dojo…and she constantly reinforces the message to all that the most important thing in life is happiness and the love of your family….

Absolute will to succeed demonstrated by Juniors at grading Friday 7th December 2012

The absolute will to succeed was evident in bucket loads as a determined group of Lower Hutt Juniors faced their first grading challenge of the year…

 
Despite the unknown challenges ahead all remained resolute and firm in their desire to achieve success…their fantastic efforts rewarded with grading success….Well Done to an amazing bunch of kids

Happy 60th Birthday Jun Shihan Ben

The Brooklyn Dojo hosted a 60th Birthday get together for all friends, families and Seido students last night at their Wellington Dojo….

 
It was a wonderful night of catching up with old friends, making new ones and just enjoying each other's company over a fantastic spread of delicious food
 
The highlight of the evening being the presence of Jun Shihan Ben’s family members from overseas…Happy Birthday Jun Shihan Ben let’s have many many more

On Tuesday night we were pleasantly surprised to welcome to the class Vladimir a visiting Seido student from Seido’s Chiswick Dojo based in the UK (headed by Sensei Bede Brosnahan)

Vladimir sweated it out with everyone on the night and demonstrated his wonderful kata “Yansu” for us all to remember him by

Absolute Focus and Perseverance demonstrated in Outstanding Grading on Friday 26th October 2012

A new standard was set on Friday night for aspiring adults to reach the senior grades at Seido Karate Lower Hutt

 
Wendy Trimmer demonstrated what can only be described as “Absolute Focus and Perseverance” as she battled her way through the most physically and mentally challenging of adult gradings yet held at the Lower Hutt Dojo….
 
The solo effort was rewarded with Wendy attaining her green belt….

Congratulations to Hanshi Renzie Hanham QSM

Last month Hanshi Renzie Hanham QSM was officially inducted into the Australasian Martial Arts Hall of Fame and into the Karate Union Hall of Fame, with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Seido Karate.

Well-deserved acknowledgements for his endless dedication and commitment not only to a lifetime of karate but to a lifetime of inspiring and touching the lives of  1000’s and 1000’s of Seido students throughout New Zealand and the world…
